Roots 2 Results Brings Farmers and Food Leaders Together in Las Vegas
More than 128 people attended the Roots 2 Results: Cultivating Farm and Food Systems Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, held Feb. 25–27. The event, produced by the University of Nevada, Reno Extension, brought together producers, food entrepreneurs, academic partners, and federal and state agencies for shared learning and hands-on engagement.
On the first day, tour participants visited local farms and food businesses. During the following two full days of conference sessions, experts presented on a range of topics spanning regenerative agriculture to farm business management and market development. Highlights included cooking demonstrations; sessions on soil-building in arid environments and pollinator habitats; and collaborative planning for regional food security. Attendee feedback emphasized the value of peer networking and actionable tools they could use in their operations.

A similar event, Roots 2 Results: Cultivating Farm and Food Systems Northern Nevada, is scheduled for March 24–27, 2026, in conjunction with the Nevada Tribal Agriculture Summit. The northern conference will be held in Reno and will continue the program’s focus on immersive learning, knowledge exchange and regional collaboration.
